Metals Plasma Cut to Size

We get fired up about plasma cutting here at Mudgee Powder Coat. And when you see what it can do, you’ll be just as impressed.

We make short work of cutting through metals including steel, aluminium, copper, brass, and stainless steel.

The plasma cutting process uses superheated, electrically-ionised compressed gas to create a jet of 30,000-degree Celsius hot plasma that quickly and easily cuts through any conductive metals. While the plasma melts a line through the surface, the compressed gas blows the debris away, leaving a clean cut.

Hand plasma cutters can slice through steel plates of less than 38mm thick, but for thicker metal of up to 150mm, computer-controlled machines are used.

Computer Controlled Plasma Cutting

When metal is too thick to use a hand plasma cutter, or when precision matters, we use a CNC plasma cutter.

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, which means the plasma torch is controlled directly by the computer to deliver reliable and consistent results. CNC plasma cutting machines also work in conjunction with CAD software to create complex shapes. That means your job meets exact tolerances every time.

At Mudgee Powder Coat, we can cut sheet metal, create metal signs, as well as cut tubes and pipes exactly to the size you need them. After cutting, we can sandblast and powder coat the metal for a durable, hard-wearing finish.
